Tajamnya Lidah

quote:
"Jarum jatuh berbunyi meriam, berita sekata bisa jadi sedepa. Setajam itukah lidah mengasah kata? Tidak ada orang yang tangkas memuji kebaikan, tapi dengan cerdas membumbui keburukan orang lain. Kata sepatah ditangkal menjadi selaksa kata!"

Kata2 itu gw baca di salah satu cerita bersambung (cerbung) femina-online (thx to you, my friend =D). 'N klo gw pikir2, ada benernya jg kata2 itu. Jarang (bkn brarti gak ada) bgt ada org yg bisa ngeluarin kata2 'tajam' utk muji atow nyeritain kebaikan org lain. Tp klo utk ngata2in atow nyeritain keburukan org lain, spertinya lidah pun jd setajam mata pisau.

Gw gak munafik utk bilang klo gw gak pernah ngomongin keburukan org (astaghfirullah, pls forgive me God). Cuman entah knp ada rasa gak nyaman pd saat atow sesudah gw ngeluarin kata2 utk ngata2in yg gak enak ttg org. Kdg bahkan gw sangat mikirn utk make kata2 yg halus (duh gw ini, bknnya skalian brenti ngata2in atow ngomentarin aja gtu ya =p). Paling gak gw brusaha bgt gak 'menajamkan' lidah gw utk ngatain org. Gw cuman ngebayangin gmana klo gw yg 'ditusuk' dgn kata2 tajam itu...pasti gak enak. Walopun gwnya mungkin gak denger ya...tp tetep aja ngebayanginnya gak enak.

Mknya jg, gw suka gak enak hati klo denger org ngomongin atow ngomentarin org lain dgn kata2 yg membabi buta (btw, ini istilah dr mana ya 'membabi buta'...emang babi buta gtu? *lemot mode on*). Rasanya kok yg jd subjek pembicaraan itu gw...hiahiahia, ini sih ge-er ya judulnya LOL. Eh, gw nulis gini bkn brarti lg ngadepin masalah ky gini lho. Cuman pengen sharing aja kata2 bgs yg bisa utk introspeksi diri.

Ya sutralah, kynya gw msh hrs blajar byl...utk lbh mengasah kata2 dlm muji org drpd ngata2in ttg kejelekannya. Lumayan jg, tnyata baca2 fiksi tuh gak slalu tanpa manfaat (well, at least some people say so =D). Trutama fiksinya dlm bhs Indonesia, yg bikin gw relax bacanya...abis klo terus2an baca yg pake bhs Inggris, cape jg tnyata (apalagi yg pake bhs Arab, huaaa...kdg cuman bisa bacanya tp gak ngerti hehehe).

ps. gambar utk postingannya serem bgt ya LOL

My Lil Monster's Vocabs
Youssof is 1 year 7.5 months old. Lots of things he can do now, including raise his mom's temper LOL. So far his word's still so limited...in English, Indonesian 'n Arabic, but not too many. Let's see what words he knows till now:

  • Mama for me 'n Baba for his dad...even sometimes he calls his brother Baba too =p.
  • Mam for eating 'n Me' for drinking...don't know where he got this word for drinking from, perhaps from 'mimik' my family got used to say to him when we were in Indonesia last time. But according to my bro in law, 'me' is the word for water used in official arabic...hmmm, how could he find it out? hihihi.
  • Dadah for waving bye...even if people says bye bye, he'll respond it with dadah, hehehe. But he can say bye too...only he'll say it 'ba'.
  • Bava for bravo...'n he'll clap his hands while he says it =D. People here says bravo to show a compliment if someone is succes to do something, usually for kids.
  • Maw if he wants something...I guess it's suppose to be 'mau'.
  • Ayaa for hallo...everytime he hears the phone ringing, he'll scream it 'ayaa!!'. Sometimes he takes my mobile phone 'n says 'ayaa' then pretends that he's talking on the phone =p
  • Tetu for thank you...he'll say it both when we give him something 'n when he gives us something. It's like he forces us to say thank you hahaha.
  • 'Ood for sit...'n it's an arabic word to ask someone (male) to sit. He gets used to give us an order to sit if he wants something on our hands =D
  • Hatt for bring it here...he got this word coz his grandpa got used to scream it to him everytime he ran away with his grandpa's stuffs. Well, his grandpa is too old to be able just running after him instead of screaming this word out. 'N now, he gets used to drop his toy or anything on his hand then says this word to us for bringing it up =p
  • Haade from Haader...means okay. We get used to say it to him if he wants something 'n we can't give or do it right away. It's like we'll give or do it for him, but he should wait for a sec. Now he can say it if we want him to do something hehehe.
  • Yalla for let's go...it's an arabic word 'n he likes it so much coz it means we'll go out, hihi. He's really really such an outdoor boy, if we say this word he'll run to the front door 'n keep pushing us to go LOL
  • Cu baa from Ciluk Baa...he'll say it with his hands on 'n off his or my eyes. 'N he'll say 'baa' also, everytime the shirt passes through his head when I put it on him...or when he turns on the lights =p
  • Aiwa for asking yes or no...coz he gets used to ask something to me (with his 'planet' words ofcourse 'n usually I pretend to understand LOL) 'n I answer it with 'aiwa'. So now he gets used to talk to me 'n says 'aiwa' at the end to know if I agree or not =D
  • Oppa from Hoppa...he'll say it to us while he was on a high place (usually table) 'n wanna jump to us. We used to say it to him when he was younger while playing this jumping game. 'N now, after becomes a climbing expert...it's his turn to say so LOL
  • Tah from Sah...he'll either he use it to answer us if we sah Sah? (=right?) or to ask if something's right or not hehehe.
  • Taya from Ta'ala, which means come here.
  • 'Ottah for cat...he'll say it while making his fingers open 'n close to call the cat.
  • La or sometimes Gak for no...by shaking his head too =D
  • Geddo for grandpa...he can say it but veeeery rarely, hehehe.
  • Tu Uwa Tidaa from Dua Tiga...it's the lesson he got when we were in Indonesia, to say 'satu dua tiga'. It was almost 7+ months ago, but he still remembers it.
  • Tu Thee from Two Three...still can't say the 'one' hehe.
  • Tudah from Sudah.

Actually before we went to Indonesia, he sometimes could say Saam from Islam (his bro's name) 'n E Da? (=what's that?)...but seems that he forgot after lots of Indonesian words he got from my family. Vice versa, he could say lots of Indonesian words which he forgot after we were back to Egypt...like Tate from Tante for calling my sis, Ti from Uti for calling my mom, Mbak for calling the maid, Ko from Eko (my bro's name) 'n Teddy (my bro in law's name).

I read in lots of articles 'bout multi language baby that they might be late than other babies in his age without multi language. Also there's a method called One Parent One Language (OPOL), which both one parent should consistantly talk in one language 'n the other in another language. But the problem with me 'n hubby is that even both of us get used to talk in mix languages...for instance: Mau eat apa? or Aez ta shorb teh or nesca (wanna drink tea or nescafe?), 'n elses =D. Not good perhaps, but it comes automatically between us. So now what we try to do for not making Youssof more confuse with many languages is to be constant in using one word. For example, if we say 'ood for sit, then we'll keep using it 'n not change it to 'sit' or 'duduk'...or udah/sudah for finish, not change it to 'finish' or 'khalas'...or thank you, not change it to 'makasih/trima kasih' or 'syokran'...etc. We also try to use the easiest word to say from the 3 languages.

So, is there anyone can share experience or knowledge bout multi language kids with me? The problems that come up when you teach them to talk, when they finally can really talk, or whatever related to this matter...pls share it with me. TETUUU...=D

Aku dan Bahasa............Arab
Gw seneng blajar bahasa. Gw suka mimpi utk menguasai byk bahasa. Mknya gw gak pernah ngerasa tpaksa pas ortu gw mulai masukin gw ke kursus Inggris wkt gw baru lulus SD. Jg dgn keinginan sendiri gw ikutan les Perancis wkt gw baru lulus kuliah 'n blm dpt kerja. That's all coz I love to learn languages. Even pas gw SD, gw seneng bgt plajaran Bahasa Indonesia...krn gurunya enak ngajarnya 'n sampe gw kuliah, guru bahasa gw di SD itu msh mrupakan guru bahasa tbaik yg pernah ngajar gw.

Awal gw kenal bhs Inggris sbenernya pas klas 3 SD. Cuman sbentar, krn abis itu entah knp kurikulum Bahasa Inggris dihapusin dr kurikulum SD. Gw baru ktemu pelajaran ini lg pas udah SMP. Tp tnyata walopun slama 3 thn gak ktemu bhs Inggris, gak bikin gw lupa ttg bahasa ini. Pun gak bikin gw bingung dlm blajar bahasa ini dgn struktur tata bahasanya yg berbeda dr Bhs Indonesia. Sdikit lbh 'njelimet' krn bhs Inggris mgunakan sistem MD smentara bhs Indonesia mgunakan sistem DM (mis.baju baru = new clothes). Jg krn kata kerja dlm bhs Inggris brubah bdasarkan wkt (past, present, future, dll).

Then gw beralih ke bhs Perancis. Awalnya krn pengen ngisi wkt aja krn apply kerjaan blm ada yg ketrima. Milih Perancis jg krn seneng dengernya 'n tnyata kursusnya cukup murah dibandingin Jerman...saat itu, gak tau skrg. Tnyata bhs Perancis tambah 'njelimet' lg...dgn pen-gender-an benda2nya (feminin 'n masculin),plus numeralnya yg betul2 memusingkan (mis.91 = quatre vingt onze aka 4x20+11...pusing kan ya, Jeng Loucee? =D). Blm lg pengucapannya yg berbeda dr tulisan.

'N now...gw hrs bgelut dgn bhs Arab. Klo ini situasinya yg ngeharusin gw utk blajar, krn gw sudah tdampar dgn manisnya di negerinya Cleopatra yg komunikasinya mgunakan bhs Arab. Gw gak pernah kursus bahasa yg satu ini...cuman sempet tau dikit pas gw dimasukin Madrasah wkt SD (btw...madrasah = skolah, SD = madrasah ibtidaiyah 'n Skolah Lanjutan = madrasah tsanawiyah). Tnyataaaaa...smakin 'njelimet'. Sama spt Perancis yg mgunakan gender utk benda2nya...bhs Arab jg. Yg makin bikin pyusing, klo Perancis msh mgunakan huruf2 latin, klo Arab ya pake huruf2 Arab...dimana utk tau feminin/maskulin-nya suatu benda, qta hrs tau huruf trakhir dr kt bendanya. Klo diakhiri dgn huruf 'ta' atau 'ta marbutoh', brarti bendanya feminin.

Sdikit gambaran ttg Bhs Arab (yg gw dah tau, krn tnyataaaa...msh byk yg bikin gw bingung *nangis darah*):

  • Spt Perancis jg, kt kerjanya mengikuti subjek yg bicara. Bedanya, utk kt ganti org ptama aka saya...brubah mnurut gender org yg berbicara. Contoh: Saya mau aka I want aka Je veux...klo yg bicara laki jdnya Ana 'aez, klo yg bicara prempuan jdnya Ana 'aeza.

  • Hukum diatas blaku jg thadap yg diajak bicara. Contoh: Kamu lapar? aka Are you hungry? aka As-tu faim?...klo yg ditanya laki jdnya Enta ga'an?, klo yg ditanya prempuan jdnya Enti ga'ana?. Utk yg ini aja gw msh suka salah...suka bilang ana 'aez utk diri gw sendiri =D

  • Utk penjamakan benda, ada jamak utk benda yg jumlahnya 2 dan yg lbh dr 2. Contoh: 1 thn = sannah, 2 thn = sannatein, 5 thn = khamas sannawat/sennin...or 1 buku = kitab, 2 buku = kitabein, 5 buku = khamas kutub. Msh byk lg yg hukum pbentukan jamaknya py byk aturan.

  • Pgunaan kt sifat utk menerangkan benda, tgantung dr huruf trakhir benda tsb. Apakah benda tsb diakhiri dgn 'fathah (baris atas)', 'kasrah (baris bawah) atau 'dammah (baris koma/waw kecil)'. Hukum ini jg digunakan utk penjamakan.

Fyuuuh...dr hanya 4 poin yg gw sebut diatas, udah cukup bikin pyusing. Msh banyaaaak bgt yg gw bingung. Ini baru bahasa hari2 aka slank-nya aja, blm bahasa resmi aka official-nya...beda bgt kt2nya. 'N ttg bhs yg digunakan dlm Al-Qoran, itu lbh bhs tingkat tinggi lg...subhanallah. Blm lg pengucapan huruf2 Arab suka bikin lidah gw kriting. Klo utk baca Qoran aja mungkin msh bisa. Tp klo utk dipake ngomong stiap saat...kynya msh belibet ni lidah. Mungkin krn blm biasa aja dgn pengucapan huruf2 Kho, 'Ain (yg pengucapannya tnyata bkn dr hidung tp dr tenggorokan), Hah besar (yg pengucapannya dr tenggorokan)...scara trus2an.

Niweys, slama 4 thn disini gw dah bisa ngertiin obrolannya org2. Cuman bales ngomongnya msh tetep pake Inggris hehehe. Klo yg standar2 aja gw msh bisa balesnya, tp klo jawaban yg dibutuhkan pjg...macet deh =D. Bbrp kt dlm bhs Arab yg digunakan sehari2 di Mesir:

  • Apa kabar = Ezayyak(lk) or Ezayyek (pr)
  • Baik = Kuwayes (lk) or Kuwayesa (pr)
  • Selamat pagi = Sabah el-khier
  • Selamat malam = Masa el-khier
  • Selamat datang = Ahlan wa sahlan
  • Aku mau = Ana 'aez (lk) or Ana 'aeza (pr)
  • Nggak tau = Mish 'arf (lk) or Mish 'arfah (pr) atau bisa jg Ma'arafsh (for both)
  • Nggak bisa = Mish adr (lk) or Mish adra (pr)
  • Trima kasih = syokran
  • Sini = Ta'ala (lk) or Ta'ali (pr)
  • Ayo = yalla
  • Duduk = 'Ood (lk) or 'Oodi (pr)
  • Ya or apa = Na'am
  • Nggak = La
  • Kamu siapa = Enta min (lk) or Enti min (pr)
  • Nggak boleh = Mayinfash/Mish ayinfa
  • Dimana? = Fen?
  • Disini = henna
  • Disana = hennak
  • Berapa? = Kam?
  • Silahkan = Min faddal (lk) or Min faddali (pr)
  • Aku cinta kamu = Ana bahebbak (lk) or Ana bahebbek (pr)

Msh byk lg sih...tp ntar pjg beneeeer hehehe. Yg pasti, tnyata byk kt2 dlm bhs Arab yg sama atow mirip dgn bhs Indonesia. Contoh: kursi, kamus, istirahat (tp dibaca istirahah dlm bhs Arab), sabun (lucu, gak nyangka gw klo bisa sama =p), sehat (jg dibaca sehah), mangga (mangga buah, bkn mangga bhs sunda *peace wsab*), zaitun, hamil, rahim, dll. Byk lg, cuman gak inget...pdhal pernah disuruh bikin tabel sama hubby, kt2 yg sama dr bhs Indonesia 'n Arab hihihi.

Well, still waaaay to go...bakal lama kynya kali ini gw blajar bhs yg satu ini. Ada yg tertarik blajar bhs Arab jg? Blajar bareng yuuuk huehehe. Hmm, stelah bisa Arab apalagi ya? Mungkin Italy kali ya, atow Spanish? huahaha...

Cuaca di Mesir
Wow, another so-very-long-time with no update (yea yea...so-very-me also, hehehe). 'N gak pengaruh jg ya tnyata 'treakan' tim penyorak update (ya Phi, Deas?) =D. Benernya byk yg pengen dicritain. Gak melulu ttg hari2 gw sih...pengen jg crita more ttg Alexandria, ttg Cairo, ttg talk show di tv...macem2 lah. Cuman krn gak lgsg ditulis pas idenya muncul, jdnya abis itu mood gw brubah (yup, so-very-me again...senengnya nunda2, dasar si pemalas =p).

Cuaca bbrp hari ini enak bgt. Panas sih mataharinya, cuman anginnya enak bgt...apalagi qta klo kluar rmh jarang siang2, jd mataharinya dah bobo' hehehe. Eh, tp klo qta ke club sih panasnya msh...krn qta perginya abis 'Asr gtu. Cuman kan di club skrg tempat utk duduk2nya dibanyakin...n tempatnya klo gak dibawah pohon2 gtu, ya pake payung. Trus krn anginnya byk, jd panas mataharinya kalah. Asik lah pokoknya...duduk2 sambil minum jus, nungguin Islam (kakaknya Youssof) slesei latihan voli. Yg kesian sih Islam, dia tetep kepanasan krn kan latihan volinya outdoor gtu hehehe. Biasanya qta ke club krn Islam latihan polo air. Tp bhubung latihan polo airnya reses sampe abis lebaran 'n hubby tetep pengen Islam py kegiatan olah raga, jd lah dia dimasukin latihan voli...since hubby was also a volleyball player in the team of our club 24 yrs back (waduh, laki gw dah tuir ya LOL LOL). So, klo biasanya qta duduk2nya di skitaran kolam renang...skrg pindah ke taman gtu, yg deket sama lapangan volinya.

Ngomong2 ttg cuaca yg enak...September sampe ptengahan November di Mesir cuacanya emang enak, sejuk bgt gtu. Walopun siang2 yg mataharinya mencrang bgt, tetep enak krn anginnya dah mulai dingin. Klo kebanyakan turis asing mengunjungi Mesir pd saat summer, klo gw yg jd turis mungkin lbh seneng jln2 kesini antara bln Sept-Nov ini. First, it's not hot anymore 'n not cold yet...second, it's not crowded coz the school year usually starts in mid Sept. Utk kongkow2 di club jg enak pas bln2 gini...krn wkt latihan utk anak2 dah bkurang bgt, jd gak tlalu penuh sesak gtu clubnya. Wkt lain yg enak utk mengunjungi Mesir, mnurut gw tuh skitar bln Maret-Mei gtu. Kynya emang bln2 diantara winter-summer or summer-winter emang cuacanya enak ya utk negara2 dgn 4 musim.

O ya, klo ke Mesir tujuannya utk mengunjungi pyramid 'n sphinx...emang enaknya gak pas summer. Gileee, panas beneeerrr...udah mataharinya mencrang edun gtu, pas msk pyramid qta bakalan climbing stairs yg seakan gak abis2 gtu hehehe. Daerah yg suhu udaranya mostly stabil spanjang taun, ya skitaran Red Sea (Sharm El Shiekh, Hurgada, Ein El Sokhna). Cuman ya klo winter air lautnya tetep dingin, tp klo gak pake brenang cuacanya enak utk santai2. Klo North Coast (incl.Alexandria), mending kesana pas summer...klo winter anginnya dingin bgt 'n killing, apalagi air lautnya.

Atas: Red Sea-Sharm El Shiekh
Bawah:North Coast

Ya gtu deh, sdikit info ttg Mesir 'n cuacanya. Gambaran ttg daerah padang pasir yg panas sampe tjadi fatamorgana (ky di salah satu critanya Tintin =p) gak segitu2nya kok...ada jg periode dimana cuacanya dingin bgt 'n ada periode dimana cuacanya enak utk jln2. So, yg pengen mengunjungi Mesir...silahkaaan (dih, ky gw yg py aja hihihi).
